Welcome to the South Carolina Association of Electrologists (SCAE) website. SCAE was founded by leaders in the permanent hair removal industry whose dedication to the profession led them to create a membership association that provides high-level education to its members across the state.
Today, the SCAE is more dedicated and committed than ever to providing the public with highly skilled and trained professional electrologists. The SCAE offers members regular seminars and meetings where electrologists can earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) each year. These seminars offer an opportunity for members to discuss and share relevant issues in the hair removal industry. In addition, the SCAE continually strives to protect the health and safety of the public as well as the electrologists by providing its members with advanced training in the field of sterilization and universal precautions.
SCAE is affiliated with the American Electrology Association (AEA). The AEA is the largest international electrology membership organization worldwide. The AEA and its affiliate organizations, such as the SCAE, provide many programs that benefit the electrologist, the profession and the public. Many of our members have earned the additional credential of CPE (Certified Professional Electrologist) by passing a voluntary certification examination offered by the International Board Certification Committee. CPEs are challenged to improving their knowledge and practice through the AEA's Continuing Education and Recertification programs, which require 75 hours of approved continuing education every five years to recertify.
